The Enhanced Check provides information on cautions, warnings, reprimands, convictions, whether the applicant is on the barred list for children or adults an information disclosed from the applicant’s local police station.

In which circumstance will I need a Basic Check?

DBS Checks for Dental Practices will require employees such as cleaners who work outside of practice opening hours to have a Basic Criminal Record Check.

This is because you would not have access to any patients, therefore will not be legally eligible for a Standard or Enhanced DBS Check.

How do I apply for a DBS check?

A recruitment agency or hiring organisation will be eligible to apply for a DBS Check on your behalf. Current legislation does not allow individuals to apply for a DBS Check on themselves.
