Our DBS Check fees are reducing!

Due to recent changes at the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), uCheck are reducing their fees on Basic, Standard and Enhanced DBS Checks!

These are our new DBS Check prices from the 1st of October:

  • Basic disclosures starting from £27.80
  • Standard disclosures starting from £27.80
  • Enhanced disclosures starting from £44.80

What’s inspired this change? Have there been any major changes to the DBS? How are you getting value for money?

Luckily, our blog has all the answers:

Reduced DBS Fees: Why are they changing?

Earlier this year, the Government Public Accounts Committee, who hold Government expenditure to account, launched a progress review into the DBS.

This review specifically focused on the modernisation project of the DBS, which was, as of May 2018, four years overdue and £229 million over budget.

The DBS admitted this was funded by the surplus money made on their Enhanced, Standard and Basic disclosures.

The DBS insisted it was aware of how important good value for money is to their customers, especially as so many operate in the public sector.

As a result, they not only intend to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the services they provide, but also reduce fees.

This has, in turn, led to our reduction of fees here at uCheck!

Reduced DBS fees: Will there be any notable changes to the DBS?

During its progress review earlier this year the DBS stated that any changes to its existing contract will adopt the current systems in place. They will then aim to deliver the service using these existing systems.

While there is no big development planned for its disclosure function, the DBS confirmed that its new contractor will aim to make smaller changes to improve accessibility. From there they can identify where changes need to be made.
